Bug Description

Ubuntu put this line in /etc/hosts:

127.0.1.1 <your_hostname>

This cause problems for e.g. Java RMI since java.net.InetAddress.getLocalHost() then reports 127.0.1.1.

Hi,

I dont believe this to be a bug, but rather a feature. See http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Ubuntu/2007-08/msg00676.html

Can Java bind to a different IP?

I am marking this as invalid, if you believe it to be in error, please dont hesistate to reopen this bug!

Well, it might be regarded as a feature by some. But nevertheless it causes problems for those of us who uses Java RMI.
