Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx

Linux ubuntu 2.6.28-6-generic
jaunty (development branch) 9.04

Dell Dimension 5000 with
PCIE: Graphics card: "ATI Radeon X300 (RV370) 5B60 (PCIE)

Xserver did not start
startx generated log relevant section (I think) below.

replaced xorg.conf with xorg.conf.failsafe to enable kdm

From Xorg.log:

fglrx does not yet work with the X server in Ubuntu 9.04. marking as a duplicate for that master bug.
