Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdebase
Jaunty Alpha + Current updates 20090304
Description:
Submenus in KDE applications pop up after a short delay which makes KDE applications feel very sluggish.
How to reproduce:
1. Open Dolphin
2. Click on "File" menu
3. Move mouse pointer to menu entry "Create new"
4. After a short delay submenu is shown
Expected behaviour:
(Sub)menus should pop up instantly without delay. This way KDE applications feel much faster.

Do you have desktop effects enabled? ... if so -> disable them
Also, what graphics chip/driver are you using?
I get no whatsoever, neither does any machine I have seen recently.
