"Last Activity" not getting updated

We have a subscriber that watches for changes in community content and updates the content_modified on a community. This is then displayed on the List Communities screen.

Unfortunately it isn't getting updated.

Chris believes this is because we need the views to fire a certain event (e.g. ObjectModified) inside the view.

Note that this is a whackamole. Every time any subobject of a community is changed, an ObjectModifiedEvent must be sent in the view that changes it. So this is less a community-related task than an everything-else-related task. I just tried this after modifying a Wiki page, and the "content_modified" attribute of the community that the Wiki page lived in was indeed changed, so I'm not sure which mole to whack to close this issue.
