Bug Description

Sorry, I don't know if this the place for my problem; but I'm fed up with Nvidia drivers. The other day a friend bought the pc Emachines EL1200 with Ubuntu certified -I have a little crusade to manage to change all my friend pcs to Ubuntu- but after I have charged the driver the system doesn't recognize the graphics and we must change the resolution and put the driver for a generic VESA.
I probe with "controladores de hardware" (hardware drivers), with Envy and with the proprietary driver from NVIDIA page; however, the result is forever being the same: the system doesn't recognize the NVIDIA driver, and after a new trying driver load we must reboot and another more time the OS advice we've a low resolution. We've tried to change he configuration with displayconfig-gtk and we haver wrote manually the xorg file, all for nothing.
I know you would need that the terminal said, but I haven't here the pc; although, due to this computer is certified for Ubuntu may be this information could result you interesting.
I'm grateful to you for an answer to make me easy my personal campaign in favour of our great OS.
Despite my awful English I hope your were able to understand my explanation.
Regards,

Has tratado usando la consola de recuperacion? (en el GRUB), creo que hay una opcion para arreglar el servidor grafico, tambien podrias tratar de ver si funciona en ubuntu 8.10 (Hablo español. mas abajo en Ingles ↓)
Have you tried using the Recovery Mode in the GRUB?, also you can try Ubuntu 8.10

Hello!

Thank you for reporting this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better!

To tell the truth I couldn't find your hardware here http://webapps.ubuntu.com/certification/ . Are you sure that your system is Validated Hardware?

Could you please explain the specific steps you took to install nvidia proprietary drivers?

Thank you for reporting this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better!
