Bug Description

I'm running Jaunty on an eee PC 1000 with an Intel 945GME graphics adapter. I've already posted in another thread about poor 3d performance on this card, but this problem seems to be different. I can't seem to get any full-screen video in certain applications - so far, I've noticed this in ScummVM and DosBox. I can type and get sound just fine, though.

Full-screen video in VLC and other media players works fine, though.

After further testing, I discovered that the Intel driver does not display video in 800x600 and 640x480 resolutions, even though they are selectable under Screen Resolution. 800x600 works normally (though stretched) with the VESA driver. Worse yet, my system became stuck at 800x600 with no way to change it back to 1024x600, and I had to reformat and reinstall.

This makes lower-resolution games unplayable, and seems to be yet another symptom of an Intel driver that is extraordinarily buggy at this point. I did not have this problem in Intrepid - all resolutions worked normally.

With the listed graphics; I can state that it works in Intrepid; I will test Jaunty later tonight to verify your bug.

Hi fieldstone,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

This problem was fixed in a newer release of the Intel driver. The GL performance is still terrible, but I can use every resolution.
