Bug Description
just did an 'aptitude --with-recommends dist-upgrade' from hoary to breezy and now i cannot login to any jabber servers (talk.google.com or jabber.org). when i attempt to "connect" i am told that authentication has failed.

this occurs when you login without a resouce. adding a resouce fixes the problem.
