Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

1. I tested the beta version of Amarok2 some months ago, when it still contained the video plasmoid. I updated to 2.0.1 now, but I can't remove the video applet: it says "angeforderte komponente ist nicht auffindabar", which means "requested component could not be found". By right-clicking a menu opens and it seems that I could remove it, but nothing happened.

2. Every object in this field in the middle is way too big. for example, "information about current playing track" doesn't fit in the window.

The video plasmoid was removed in the final release. I'd recommend purging the configuration files (~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc and the folder ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok) and trying again.

Thank you for your quick response!

But I must admit that this does not work. The broken video plasmoid didn't vanish, but so did my whole playlists and so on. That's why I use my old configuration files again.

Oh, excuse me. You'll want to remove ~/.kde/share/config/amarok-appletsrc

Removed amarok-appletsrc, but it changed nothing.

Did you remove the file when amarok was closed?

I am quite sure I did.

Hmm, well this definitely is the problem with a crufty config from a prerelease version of Amarok. Nothing much we can do about it.
