Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Some time ago I started using libflashplayer.so to handle flash movies without nspluginwrapper. This worked in Jaunty until recently, when I noticed that Firefox would crash on opening any page with a flash movie in it - news pages like msn.com, msnbc.com.

I can re-install flashplugin-nonfree, which downloads the flash player from Adobe, but also installs nspluginwrapper, and don't get the crashes. Is there an updated libflashplayer.so that could be used instead? It seemed that some real progress was being made by adobe in providing a flashplayer (64-bit, even) that didn't need nspluginwrapper. Have we lost this progress?

Hello
I have problems with flashplayer, since I use 9.04 x64. I installed flasplayer 64 version with firefox 3.5. Some videos are played, but the majority does not start.
What is the problem?

We do not support 64bit version of flash using nspluginwrapper fixes your problem than we did our job. :) once 64bit becomes a bit closer to final (like finail) we will talk about packaging it but at this time its way too unstable
Please report 64bit version problems with adobe

affects: firefox (Ubuntu) → flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu)
Changed in flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
