Bug Description

Binary package hint: python-numpy

similar to #299260, installing Edubuntu 8.10 after Ubuntu 8.10 on a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop (1.6GHz, 356MBram, NVidia). Used Synaptic to install, seemed to take a long time to recognize the server (after CD ejected, updated apt-cache) then downloaded and installed. No further issues.

it would be nice if update-manager could detect
