Hi papukaija,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

Bryce Harrington: Why do need these log files? I'm just asking to update the nvidia-driver for the nvidia-graphics-drivers-71 pacgage. The newest driver isn't still compatible with X.Org server 1.5 or higher, but there are a better support for the new kernels.

Release Highlights:
Changes since 71.86.08:

    * Fixed a bug that could trigger kernel BUG() failures when stress testing setup/teardown paths.

Jaunty is using 71.86.08. Is it possible to update it to 71.86.09 after Jaunty has been released?

No, it wouldn't help because that still doesn't work with the new xserver.

Why is this package (nvidia-glx-71) still available, if it is not compatible with Jaunty (and Intrepid)? It causes so much confusion!

Closing, since this package isn't in Karmic.
