Bug Description

Binary package hint: amsn

I've done a fresh install of ubuntu 8.10 on an IBM Intellistation Z PRO with nVidia Quadro4 980 XGL, Dual head.
Once Desktop effects are activated, menus disappear from Amsn, along with almost any text displayed in Amsn windows.
They do not disappear completely though, they're flickering, sort of, when the mouse roll over. They're off when the mouse pointer is out.
Once Desktop effects are desactivated, things go back to normal.
On 8.04, using another box, but still in dual head, I've never had this kind of trouble.
Don't know whether it's an amsn, ubuntu, tcl/tk or nvidia issue.
Any hint ?

I remember having this problem a while ago. I don't remember how I fixed it but it wasn't just aMSN but the whole desktop. I'm now running 9.04 on the same computer (I think.. ) and it works as expected, so whatever makes the menus disappear it's probably fixed when you switch to 9.04.
It is however not a bug in aMSN.
