Time is being adjusted by ntpdate even if you choose to manage time manually in System > Administration > Time and Date

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ntpdate

Even if you choose "Manual" in the Configuration drop-down menu in System > Administration > Time and Date, time and date will still be adjusted automatically. This appear to be caused by the fact that ntpdate is run from /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate, which would happen at least every time the system boot. This could prove confusing to user, who would not expect their time to be adjusted automatically if they so choose in the graphical applet.

Package assignation is probably not right, but I am not sure if it should be filed against GNOME. Verified on hardy, not sure about later release.

Sounds good now. I have no idea where the magic operate, as /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate do not check the desktop environment setting, but manually-set time persist across reboot now. Thanks, I guess this can be closed.
