notification area draws incorrectly on vertical panel

I have a vertical gnome panel containing a notification area, itself
containing at the moment a dropbox icon, network manager thing, and
battery icon. As of jaunty a couple of days ago, it's now drawing only
on of the icons. Prior to that it was working well. If I drag the
notification area to a new horizontal panel I can see all the contents.

they are listed in a horizontal form, increase a bit the size of the panel and you'll see what i'm talking about, known upstream and being tracked here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=531371 ; thanks for reporting!.
