You have to configure "localepurge" with the command dpkg-reconfigure localepurge to make /usr/sbin/localepurge actually start to function.

Bug Description

When I try to in stall something (for example splashy-themes) this is what happens:

Setting up splashy-themes (0.4.1) ...
Processing triggers for libc6 ...
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.27-9-generic

You have to configure "localepurge" with the command

        dpkg-reconfigure localepurge

to make /usr/sbin/localepurge actually start to function.

Nothing to be done, exiting ...

when I do "dpkg-reconfigure localepurge" I get to a screen that says " Configuring localepurge" rather than " REconfiguring". When I choose "en" I get another screen that says:

┌──────────────────────┤ Configuring localepurge ├──────────────────────┐
 │ │
│ You chose not to keep any locales. This means that all locales will │
│ be removed from your system. Are you sure this really is what you │
 │ want? │
 │ │
│ Really remove all locales? │
 │ │
 │ <Yes> <No> │
 │

I choose "no" as I think this is wrong! I then get :

┌─────────────────────┤ Configuring localepurge ├──────────────────────┐
  │ │
│ localepurge will not take any action │
  │ │
│ localepurge will not be useful until you successfully configure it │
│ with the command "dpkg-reconfigure localepurge". The configured │
│ entries from /etc/locale.gen of the locales package will then be │
  │ automagically preselected. │
  │ │
  │ <Ok> │
  │

Which is what I wanted to do in the first place.

Any ideas welcome
Thanks in advance
Colin
