Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I have a laptop with a second moniter attached usually. When I unplug the second monitor and restart x, my desktop is automatically resized to fit just the primary moniter. However when opening, closing, or selecting windows there are many rendering issues. Windows are not drawn properly and there are many issues with windows "trailing."

I am using nvidia drivers (177.8 I think)

This is an example of some of the issues that occur. The box is supposed to be a semi transparent terminal window. It seems issues greatly affect compositing

i have and additional screenshot of the issue.
This occured when i opened gedit and remained until i grabbed the window and moved it a little. Then it rendered properly.
It happens every time I open a new window and when I minimize/maximize windows.

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
