Bug Description

Curlftpfs curlftpfs 0.9.2 libcurl/7.18.2 fuse/2.7

I'm a member of an ftp server that automatically generates everyone a unique username.
All of our usernames contain @.

Mine is: "<email address hidden>"

Therefore to mount ftp server locally,

"sudo curlftpfs -o allow_other ftp://<email address hidden>:<password>@ftpserver.acanac.com host"

Obvious issue is that two @s are used, confusing curlftpfs.

Output:
"Error connecting to ftp: Couldn't resolve host 'actnbr4n.ftpserver.acanac.com:<password>@ftpserver.acanac.com"

Hmm.. cant even use "@" for a tag name

Hello!

Have you already tried to use the following command?

sudo curlftpfs -o <email address hidden>:<password>" -o allow_other ftp://ftpserver.acanac.com host

Please, let us know if it works!

Thank you.

It's easy!

curlftpfs#ftp.host.com /mnt/host fuse rw,uid=500,user,noauto 0 0

You can find the information you need here (look at the bottom of the page):

http://curlftpfs.sourceforge.net/

Probably you'll be also interested in preventing the password from showing in the process list.

This is not a bug, but a support request, so I'm going to convert this report into a question!

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .
