Intrepid: qtparted can only be started via command line because privileges are not being asked for the normal way

One can install qtparted via the built-in applications catalogue. This suggests that this is a fully integrated easy-to-use program.

However, when you try to start it, it denies working due to insuffient privileges. You can only start it via terminal ('sudo qtparted').

GNOME programs do it this way: When privileges are needed, a window shows up and you can enter your sudo password and proceed. IMHO all programs should behave like that if they ship with Ubuntu. Everything else is inconsistent and irritates the user. Are there any issues that would prevent you from making qtparted behave like the usual GNOME programs (eg gparted) in this aspect?
