Bug Description

1)Ubuntu 8.10
2)Sun-java 6-bin
Sun-java 6-jre
3) I don't know how I got to install these two "guys". I was trying to install some codecs to work with .wmv though they didn't work. then I found some other info on the net about these codecs. I tried something else to install but suddenly my system restarted. So...I got these hanging on the Synaptic and now I cannot remove/install/upgrade anything.
I would really like to provide further info if it's necessary. So please, feel free
