We apologize for the inconvenience, but Google Earth has crashed.
This is a bug in the program, and should never happen under normal
circumstances. A bug report and debugging data are now being written
 to this text file:

    /home/shirish/.googleearth/crashlogs/crashlog-F33DEFE6.txt

This bug report will be sent to Google automatically next time you run
Google Earth. Its data, which contains no personal information, will help
us correct problems without bothering you further. If you would rather
this info not be transmitted, please delete the above file before running
the program again. If you want bug reports to NEVER be sent, remove the
 above 'crashlogs' directory's read/write permissions.

Hi,

Thanks for your bug report.

I suppose this crash occurred with the 4.2 version? Could you try with the a more recent one (4.3 or 5.0)? As crash logs are apparently automatically sent to Google, this is possibly fixed...

i have also had this bug with 4.2, but when i upgrade to 4.3 or 5.0, the app is unusably slow. the system runs fine, but the google earth app itself is slow.

I had the same crash on 4.2. Upgrading to 4.3 solves it and I don't seem to have any performance problem with that version (yet). It would be nice to have 5.0 in medibuntu though.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. I'm closing this bug as it's fixed in googleearth 4.3 (I don't think that googleearth 4.2 will receive any update from Google...).

Bruno > Googleearth 5.0.11337.1968 is available in jaunty, and has been backported in intrepid-staging and hardy-staging (for testing purposes).
