Bug Description

A question posted to RT @ Launchpad:

Hi, I work for a university and we are using RT as part of our infrastructure. It is currently running on a Solaris 9 machine if I recall correctly. I set up a virtual machine running Ubuntu recently because we are planning on migrating RT to Linux, and I really appreciate the work you've put in. The package makes things very easy to install. I am wondering, however, if you're planning on releasing an RT 3.8 package for the Ubuntu repos in the near future. Once again I appreciate the work you've done, thanks a lot.

Could this be feasible for jaunty and possibly backport this?

There are great improvements in the newest verison of RT.

Debian seems to have a branch of SVN: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-request-tracker/packages/request-tracker3.8/?rev=0&sc=0

Hope this can be done

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help to improve Ubuntu.

This is more properly a feature request against the Ubuntu archive, not against the request-tracker3.6 package which will remain 3.6 even if 3.8 is made available. Bug #320195 has already been filed, requesting this; I'm therefore marking this bug as a duplicate.

Changed in request-tracker3.6:
