Bug Description

Hello,

I am running Kubuntu 8.10 Interpid Ibex.

As stated in the summary, I observe a strange behavior in all KDE applications that should normally hide the mouse pointer, such as Konsole, Kaffeine, Dragon, and Screensaver. When I launch one of these apllications and don't move the mouse for a while, at first the pointer dissappears as expected, but after 5-10 seconds it reappears and stays visible although I didn't move the mouse.

I tried unplugging my external USB mouse and even disabled the touchpad of my Laptop (Dell D630) via the info.ignore property in a .fdi file but the problem still occurs.

I also installed Xfce and when I run the above mentioned applications under Xfce the mouse pointer is hidden as expected. So the problem seems to be KDE related.

Furthermore, I ran the openSUSE 11.1 Live CD, that also includes KDE 4.1, on my Laptop, and there everything works fine. So it seems to be a Kubuntu issue.

Please find attached the output of 'lspci -vvnn'. I would be happy to provide any further information that could help tracking this down. Any hints how to further debug the problem are also highly appreciated.

Best regards,
Matthias
