Bug Description

I have an intel 5100 card, and a dell latitude E6400 laptop.

Hi Nicolò,

This sounds similar to bug 193970 which we anticipated would be fixed for Jaunty. Can you provide some additional information:

sudo lspci -vnvn > lspci-vnvn.log
dmesg > dmesg.log
cat /proc/version_signature > version_signature.log

It would also be good to capture your dmesg output after you've disabled the wifi, can't renable it, and then have to reload the module.

Thanks.

this is the syslog after having enabled the killswitch, which is taken from syslog which is more complete than dmesg

this is not the bug you linked, since it's the module iwlagn and iwlcore, and the workaround described in the first post is not valid.

Hi Nicolò,

Please refer to comment 115 in bug 193970, it should be a fix for the iwlagn driver:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24/+bug/193970/comments/115

I don't think it has been released in the form of an update (for Jaunty) just yet, but please keep an eye for it to test and let us know your results. Thanks.
