No Sounds when ubuntu is run on Virtual Machine in Windows XP

Bug Description

Hi there,

I have just installed ubuntu on a virtual machine in windows XP (my sound works fine in XP) and ubuntu does not find my onboard sounds card.

I have just installed Ubuntu 8.04,

Which virtualization solution are you using? VirtualBox, VMWare? With VirtualBox atleast, you will have to enable the sound card when you create a new VM. Remember, your VM sees none of the native hardware. All that it sees are the ones shown by your virtualization solution.

Please enable de sound card in the properties of the VirtualBox or VMWare, depend of the software that you're using.

The error is that the user does not configure the virtual machine to use the audio which is solved in the properties of the virtual machine to activate the audio
