Bug Description

I got Intrepid on a acer 2310. Everything worked perfectly with intrepid until I had to do a clean install of the intrepid. After that this annoying thing happens. If I leave the computer the screensaver starts to activate as scheduled. After a while the screen gets black just as it used to but this time it is impossible to wake the computer. I try the touchpad, different keystrokes and power button. Nothing help. It seems like the computer work as the fan for the cpu starts to blow but I get nothing on the screen. I have to do a hard boot to make it work again.

There seems to be several layers of "sleepiness" 1. The screen saver kicks in. The computer can be put back to service 2. The black screen is shown The computer can be awaken 3. Real hard black screen kicks in Computer is impossible to wake.

OK, I installed Ubuntu Tweak and disabled the different settings for sleep modes. After that everything seems to work. So something seems to be incompatible with Travelmate 2310.

OK after the last update every problem seems to be back again. Could the problem have something to do with SISI chipset for graphics. If I put a lively internet page with a lot of flash it sometimes get better but normally it is impossible to wake the computer after the screensaver have kicked in.

At least it is similiar. What has happened since the last update is that the problem since to be gone on my Travelmate 2310. But instead a new problem occurred on my Toshiba A40. The new problem seems to be that the computer is very slow to come to life after the sleeping has kicked in. So I could say that the original problem solved.
