Bug Description
With Jaunty, my Dell Inspiron 1420 does not resume from suspend-to-ram. It suspends successfully, but when I press the power button to resume, the power light comes on but there is no disk activity. The keyboard is also completely dead.
After rebooting, there is no indication at all of the resume attempt in the system logs.
There is one exception: if I suspend from the gdm menu (before starting gnome), that works fine.
With Intrepid, suspend worked flawlessly under all circumstances.
Using the nv driver instead of the nvidia driver makes no difference.

I did some more testing. After using gnome for a while, I can log out, suspend from the gdm menu and still resume successfully. When I'm at the gdm screen, switching to a console and doing "sudo pm-suspend" also works.
Doing "sudo pm-suspend" from a gnome terminal or from a console with gnome running does *not* work, even after stopping most of the gnome daemons.
