Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

New HDD, fresh installation of Ubuntu 7.1. Upgrade to 8.04 stopped and dialog box said to include files from /var/log/dist-upgrade. I proceeded with 257 updates and attempted to upgrade to 8.04 again. Same result. In December I upgraded from 7.1 to a new HDD and upgraded to 8.04 without incident, so this is a recent change. However, this installation has included partitions for
/
/boot
/home
/usr
/var
/opt
/tmp
/swap

Installation was without error and operation seems fine (so far).

The dialog requested that these two files be included:

Hello Dave!

It seems that file '/var/log/dist-upgrade/term.log' is missing from your bug report. Could you please attach that file? In case it is not available, could you please attach file '/var/log/apt/term.log' (please compress it)?

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better!
