Pidgin pop-up doesn't work on ubuntu 8.04-gnome

Hi,

I've used ubuntu 6.10 and 7.10 for two years with grat satisfaction, now I updated to 8.04 and I'm experiencing lots of problems.

one is that we use pidgin as instant messaging and with the previous version when one sended me a message a pop up was opened or on the task bar the pidgin tab flashed. Now this doesn't work any more.
A similiar thing happens with Eclipse. In the previous version when the debugging reached a break point the Eclipse tab on the task bar a the bottom flashed, bu now it doesn'.t

Hi Bartolomeo,

When having problems with Ubuntu, you should search for bugs or file a new one on Ubuntu bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu). Since you reported this bug for Launchpad itself, I'm marking it as Invalid here.
About the problem: I've searched amongst Ubuntu bugs and didn't seem to find any similar problems. So I assigned this bug to gnome-panel, but I'm not really sure it's a real bug or just a side effect of your dist-upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04.

Have you searched Google or Launchpad Ubuntu answers (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu) for people with similar problems? If not, you should give it a try! :)

I've noticed this too. It still occurs in 8.10

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.
