Bug Description

On Intrepid x86-64, whenever there is continously high CPU activity, the system beep is emitted many, many times. Very annoying and I've never experienced this on my computer before... only after I installed Intrepid a few days ago.

I just realized that because of this I cannot convert a video, do long compilations and so on.

I really hope somebody investigates.

Actually doing "modprobe -r pcspkr" does not solve it... maybe it's not really the system beep (sounds softer indeed) but coming from the video card? Not sure if that's possible. I'm running nvidia drivers.

To be completely fair, I've installed a second hard drive before upgrading to Intrepid, and some time before that I've added 3rd RAM module (while still on Hardy, no problems then after that). I mean it may be too much power consumption, and one of the hw components complaining. I'll try disconnecting some things tomorrow and see if there's any difference. Btw I have nvidia drivers 180.11.

Problem solved, I've increased the value of the CPU warning temperature in BIOS.
