Bug Description
With the bug report system NO WAY for reporting a bug on desktop to select the kubuntu-desktop tpackage hough it is installed !!
When reporting a bug related to destkop as users we never know how todo ; to help users long time ago I proposed the following : the same way an application has a built-in possibility to report a bug with its main menu I proposed to add the same facility to the pop-up menu of the desktop to help the user to report an anomaly that has todo with the desktop !: icons, plasmoids, panel, bacground image, screensaver etc...
My bug report : since the very beginning of KDE-4 there has been a bug with the installation of icons in the main bottom panel (if it is its correctname) due to a probem of mask I imagine ; when a new icon is inserted for example at the left of the "klipper icon" this one is pushed on the right but there will be traces left of "kilipper" icon left behing the new icon making it UGLY ; this is very hard to reproduce (I removed "kmix" icon and reinstalled it : it was neat !) ; now it looks like it happens during the installation phase ; so may be what is left behing ois not icon traces !
