Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-plasma

On Ubuntu 8.04, after installing KDE4 and related packages, I tried to add the "3D Earth Model" widget to the workspace. The widget presented a message stating that OpenGL Shaders were not supported, so I attempted to close the widget. Upon doing this, the workspace disappeared, and the following crash dump was created:

KDE 4.0 is somewhat ancient. Massive improvements all over the board have been made. This is most likely not a problem in KDE 4.2.
