Bug Description

Binary package hint: gthumb

I am viewing a directory with gthumb.
The GIF files in the directory are created with a script.
The script first deletes all the files in the directory, and then builds all files anew, adding a few new ones in addition to updating the files that were already present.

The image of the current file is updated (as it should).
However, the file list is not updated correctly, and performing a "show next image", gthumb crashes with :

(gthumb:13331): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_tree_path_get_indices: assertion `path != NULL' failed
[3]+ Segmentation fault gthumb gifs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

/var/crash remains empty.
All that could be reported as far as I can see was reported.
I could make a script on how to reproduce this bug, if you want.

Thanks. There was so debug symbol info in the backtrace. Did you install the gthumb dbg or dbgsym packages?
