Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

I need to get a video of this to show you precisely what I mean. Unlike in Intrepid, my Elantech touchpad (eee 901) doesn't move smoothly. Rather, it tends to hop in units of a few pixels. I don't know precisely how many or if it's the same number every time, but it's certainly not smooth or one pixel; it causes cut-n-paste or targeted mousing impossible, because when I try to click on something in particular, I can sometimes end up hopping around it instead of ever getting to it.

The problem may be worse when moving slowly than moving quickly; I don't have a good way to test this.

The problem may go away with the updated Sympatics driver; I'll let you know when it lands. I think it should still work without the Synaptics driver, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Hi launchpad-digitasaru,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` too.

Thanks for the reference. From that, it sounds like this requires a modification of the kernel evdev driver code, so I'm refiling against linux.
