Bug Description

hi,

as the ADC spec states - "Hubs must check that a specified address corresponds to what the client is connecting from to avoid DoS attacks and only allow trusted clients to specify a different address." - i'd like to be able to specify a different IP when i'm op.

currently it answers "Wrong IP address supplied." and disconnects me.

Well I don't think ops should be let to do this since somebody might use this for malevolent purposes. Currently I'm for the movement that wants to stop any abuse to the clients http://dcpp.wordpress.com/2009/01/14/dc-ctm-proof/
Mainly I don't want this because of another problem I explained it here http://dcpp.wordpress.com/2008/12/30/are-centralized-networks-doomed-from-the-start/

It would be very easy for malevolent ops to run simple nuke CTMs to all the users this way.

you're right, one has to be very careful when doing this.

the spec is vague, it says "trusted clients". in this case, ops can indeed not be trusted, but how about a property like "flyable-IP" that only the hub owner can set?
the hub owner can run bad actions through scripts or even change the hub program, so i guess he is the only one that can be considered trusted here.
