Bug Description

Hi I used a LG Notebook LE50Express and I install Ubuntu 8.10 , but I have the problems with sound
Then I log in Ubuntu I hear sound but that terrifically slowly-changing sound.
Then I go to System-->Preferences-->Sound and click to "Test" bottom I hear the tune, but it is ripple like beat of the pulse
I write in terminal $ lspci | grep -i audio ---> and get
00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB4x0 High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Also I edit the file /etc/modules.d/alsa-base like
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
with model= {laptop, 3stack, 4stack, 5stack, 6stack, laptop-eapd, erf, targa-dig} but it didn't hear sound?
Please help me ?!!!

Hi sergnast,

Please, if you are still having issues, test with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p alsa-base 318795

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds .

Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

Please let us know your results.
