linux-image-eeepc-lean 2.6.27.8.12eeepc1

Every time crontab runs */1 * * * * root sh /etc/acpi/eeepc/eeepc-fan-control.sh there's a segfault reported in syslog:
Jan 18 16:09:01 eee kernel: [ 4099.290972] cron[7039]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000 sp bf9f481c error 4 in cron[8048000+8000]
Jan 18 16:10:02 eee kernel: [ 4159.917306] cron[7051]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000 sp bf9f481c error 4 in cron[8048000+8000]

I have no idea who or what supplied eeepc-fan-control.sh. It certainly wasn't the kernel itself.

Sure. It's part of the Eee PC ACPI scripts

which installs /etc/acpi/eeepc/eeepc-fan-control.sh

BTW I'm running one of the original Asus Eee PC 701s

That script is not going to work on a stock kernel as /proc/eee simply won't exist (that's a Xandros kernel invention). The 2.6.28 kernel I have here does fan control through /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/ controls. Does the Ubuntu EeePC Kernel still use the eee module?
