Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
My system is a Lenovo T61 (for details see attached sysinfo.txt), I'm using [K|X]ubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.2 packages from "http://
What I expected to happen:
Display gets automatically adjusted to 1280x1024@60Hz as it is done in XFCE.
What happened instead:
When I log in to KDE, the resolution stays at 1400x1050@60Hz, and when I try to change to 1280x1024@60Hz with xrandr or krandrtray (enabling the VGA port and disabling the laptop's LVDS display, see xrandr.txt for details) kwin crashes and my desktop is white, no task bar, no desktop widgets, no icons.
I don't know if this is a duplicate of bug #291445 as I don't have a nvidia card...
