Bug Description

After updates of Feb 17th

Screen is garbled with white characters.
Sometimes hangs or completes boot of default.

Removing 'quite splash' from menu.lst boot line did not help.

I noticed that each distro is trying to commericalize the menu.lst and may be inteferring with each others efforts.

Leave grub menu.lst just black & white so it works for all systems. Thank you,

Darwin

Could this be related to the bug reported by me (Bug #31744)?
Or does it show you a grub splashimage, but only the usplash output get corrupted?

Thanks everyone for testing this feature and for those detailed reports.

We decided to disable this feature again for dapper and we'll re-enable it for dapper+1. Then without the alternatives system and better graphics.

Please just remove the
"splashimage="
 line in your
"/boot/grub/menu.lst"
 to get rid of the image, it won't be added again (during dapper).

Cheers,
 Michael
