Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
On current Xorg in Jaunty I am getting no options other than the "right" one for my panel. The laptop has a 1400x1050 screen which works fine, but if I want to use a projector I can't see an option to switch to a lower resolution because 1400x1050 is the only one listed.
Output from xrandr:-
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1400 x 1050, maximum 1400 x 1400
VGA disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
LVDS connected 1400x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
1400x1050 60.2*+
TMDS-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
I can of course force the use of a video mode but this is unpleasant to have to do.

Hey Alan,
The problem you describe I have mentioned earlier, /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ xserver- xorg-video- intel/+ bug/307858

At least, I'm (think) glad that I'm not the only one with this issue.
Question to you, when you attach your projecter, do you see any image, or does it stay black (which happenes to me when I attach my TV)?
