Bug Description

Binary package hint: soundconverter

No AAC support in soundconverter although I installed the 'faac' package.

Terminal output :

  'faac' element not found, disabling AAC.

Ubuntu Intrepid fully updated and soundconverter 1.3.2 installed using Synaptic.

Did you install the 'gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse' package?

Did the trick for me in Ubuntu Jackalope.

Yup it did it for me to :)
I believe that gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse should be in the "Mark Suggested for Installation" sub-menu.

SoundConverter needs the faac gstreamer plugin, not the faac program.
As Pieterjan said, you need the gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse package.
