Bug Description

This problem just started. I have been using thunderbird for several years now. I have several sub-lists in the address book. One of the lists is coming back with this error: 5.1.1 and <list> is not a valid email address as it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail.

John, The only add-on I have is the default Thunderbird. Just used the send button twice and it worked both times, but when I tried to use the link in your email it did not work.

what did you mean the link in my email? Do you mean when you click on a
link it does not open a browser?
Can you please give me step by step instructions on how to reproduce
this. I would really like to be able to reproduce it so i can better
understand it to help.
Are you using gnome/kde/or xfce?

Using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepet Ib.., Gnome.
When I received your email it had a link at bottom to the Launchpad bug. I am attaching an image of the current one I got. None of the links in this or last email work. They show up in the panel, but when I click on them nothing happens.
Just to see if it was your email I copied and pasted the link you had in your email and sent it to my self. It did not work. I then tried a regular URL (not https) and it worked.
Looking at Error Console for Thunderbird I get the following

Warning: Expected declaration but found '0'. Skipped to next declaration.
Source File: mailbox:///home/jim/.mozilla-thunderbird/teurumoz.default/Mail/Local%20Folders/Inbox?number=170932921
Line: 30

The SEND problem seems to have healed itself!!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Lucid Lynx. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Note: Please refrain from posting several issues into 1 bug report, this just confuses things. This bug report is for problems with email addresses not being able to be sent to because Thunderbird does not see them as "user@host". Please open new bugs for other issues. Thanks guys.
