Bug Description
Binary package hint: samba
I have Samba server installed on Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop. Testparm reveals that conf file correct. When I try to browse from my laptop which is running 8.04, I cannot see the share. I try to use "Connect to Server" and I get error stating "No application is registered as handling this file."
This is a major bug for me.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better, but unfortunately I've been unable to reproduce your issue on Ubuntu 8.10. It would be helpful if you could describe the step-by-step process you did on the Ubuntu 8.10 server as well as the Ubuntu 8.04 laptop. Maybe even try booting from a Ubuntu 8.10 LIVE CD to see if the problem still exists. With the possible server-client issue here, it is difficult to see if the problem is the server or the client. For example, can thet 8.04 laptop browser other Samba shares on other servers? It extra info would be greatly appreciated.
