Binary package hint: kdeplasma-addons

I'm sorry if this is the wrong category, but I couldn't find a matching category.

On my fathers computer, Plasma crashes when he selects a widget to add to the Desktop and then clicks on Add widget. It hangs for a while and then crashes without any error. However, adding a widget to the Panel does work.

He uses Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.2 Release Candidate 1. He also had the bug in KDE 4.2 Beta 2.

ABI breakage.

Does only happen on Intrepid, and as the Intrepid repo says ... it is experimental :P

I have the same problem. Adding a widget to the Desktop does not work and causes plasma to freeze.

I'm a newbie to linux, but I always tried not to inclued "risky" repos to the list. I just did the regular updates suggested by adept. after I (accidentally) upgraded to kde 4.2 the problem began.

Are there any solutions?
