Bug Description

Hi, I've got an Asus X50GL Laptop, and I can't shutdown and suspend with Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex with daily repositories. I suspect the problem is not identificate my battery. This problem doesn't occur with Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
I've tried modificate menu.lst and /etc/modules with the typicall suggestions there are on internet but anything works fine.
Is there a solution with this problem or I must waiting to appears Jaunty Jackalope for problem is yet resolved?
It's very annoying must restart with Windows Vista to be able shutdown my laptop.
Thanks

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in acpi-support.

This bug hasn't associated any package because I don't know what is the package produces the bug. I've been thinking tonight about this problem and I think there are two likelihood packages that they are the killers. I think that the packages of the kernel 2.6.27 aren't be good compilates for the battery of this laptop, because I've got installed the kernel of Hardy Heron, too, and in the kernel of Hardy Heron it works fine, but when I run Intrrepid with the kernel 2.6.27 it doesn't work. So, I suppose that linux-image-2.6.27.11-generic package causes the bug, but my level about linux is not sufficiently high to know what is the really cause of the problem.
Thanks

I've unpacked linux-image-2.,6.27.11-generic and I've found a package known like asus-laptop.ko in the route /lib/modules/2.6.27-11/kernel/drivers/misc, I think this file contains the bug with my asus x50gl laptop.
This bug is in Jaunty Jackalope too, and I've tested Opensuse11.1 live cd with gnome version and this bug is on, too.
This bug not exist in Ubuntu Hardy Heron.

Thanks

Here is a possible solution about the problem http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11884 but I don't have any idea to apply the patch, my level is very low about this.
Thanks

The upstream bug points to a patch which has already been applied to Intrepid under bug #288385. This change was released as part of Ubuntu-2.6.27-14.30. This kernel is already released to -updates.

No answer from bug submitter. Given that the upstream patch has been integrated long time ago, I'm assuming that the problem is fixed.
