Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Firefox 3.0 fails to download select sites, e.g., www.ietf.org, while it successfully downloads most other sites, e.g., www.google.com or www.weather.com.
I dual boot my laptop using IE on the windows XP boot and using Firefox on the Linux Ubuntu boot. IE connects downloads all the sites that the firefox browser does not. I can ping the problematic sites from the Unbuntu boot. I can download the sites using 'wget' from the unbuntu boot. I have firefox configured to detect proxies (although I have tried turning off the proxy settings and this did not help). I did a full software upgrade and I did a reinstall of firefox and this did not help.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob Cole

Seems to be a problem related to having IPv6 running on my laptop. I wnet into the /etc/modprobe. d/aliales file and set the ipv6 to off and then rebooted the laptop. I can not access the problematic websites, e.g. www.ietf.org. Not sure why this is a problem all of a sudden. thx, Bob Cole
