Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I booted up Ubuntu and executed firefox as root, then went to lurk around youtube. When I went to open a video, I got the usual "time to update all your plugins" message and did so. Now every streaming video I come across is just a giant gray start button. When I click this giant gray start button nothing happens. Occasionally The video will load with poor quality, streaming speed, and for some reason the volume on the video viewer itself will sporadically scale up and down. I have no idea what is causing this bug. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and Firefox version 3.0.5
