Bug Description
Using Ubuntu 8.10
I am using a Dell XPS m1530 with a biometric device to be able to logon by authenticating with my finger.
The manually entered password and the finger scan produce a different login mechanism.
The keyring activation seems to rely on the manual password, with using the finger scan only enables you to simply login.
I think that this is the basis of some other bugs like: Network Manager not being able to access the Keyring for the Wpa pass-phrase, and ecryptfs not being able to mount your private directory.
What ideally should happen is that using the manual password and the finger scan trigger the same effects system wide: unlocking the keyring for starters.
Note: finger scan application is Thinkfinger
