wired ethernet freezes computer

Bug Description

I recently switched from wlan to wired ethernet and now every time i use a torrent-application my system freezes very reliably within 1-10 minutes.

Do you have ADSL connection by any chance? Could you attach your /var/log/syslog file too?

This is the e1000 bug, fixed by updating the kernel to 2.6.27.
