It's unlikely that the problem is in the original archive; it sounds like somehow a corrupt package has made it to your machine. Please delete the libssl package file from /var/cache/apt/archives and try again.

If you keep getting stuff like this it might be worth checking your RAM; it's normally bad RAM, or something bad that happens during a download.
