Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

On Ubuntu 8.10, Network Manager will connect to a known wireless network even if it is already connected using a wired network. I expected it would only connect to 1 network at a time (with a preference towards wired) unless instructed to otherwise.

Currently I am using Network Manager version: 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1.8.10.1

The wired LAN appears to be the connection used based on the usage statistics given by ifconfig.

This is a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 (though several months old now) on a Thinkpad T61p laptop. No special network settings beyond adding wireless networks and setting up the Cisco VPN support. e1000e wired card, iwl3945 wireless card.

Is there anything in particular you want from the DebuggingNetworkManager page? I'm not having problems connecting, my problem is overzealous connecting. I don't have crashing issues either.

You're invalidating this bug without responding to my query about what information you are looking for. Your DebuggingNetworkManger cheat sheet does not cover this situation.
